Milo Harvest
Producers are on the move with their farm equipment. Combines being transported between milo fields. Trucks transporting milo to local grain elevators. The elevators have mounds of milo tarped like big circus tents.
We hurried and planted four hundred mixed daffodil bulbs and we bought out the remaining bags of black . . .
Glorious Sunrise
I am blessed to run into sunrise on mornings I train. The milo fields are showing off fall color and there's goldenrod roadside. I'm told goldenrod is the last wildflower of autumn.
The sumac shrubs have turned red. Prairie grass heads are backlit and aglow.

The Swell District
Hastings, Nebraska
The closest Menards is a little over an hour away in Hastings, Nebraska. I'm a little freaked out by the limited season of garden departments in the area. We're used to being able to go to a nursery in Southern California every day of the year for a wide variety of plants including vegetables for winter gardening.
